Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. seeks an experienced Assistant Chief Building Engineer to operate and maintain electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and life-safety systems across a corporate facility.

The role involves monitoring building performance, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring adherence to codes and safety standards. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, respond to emergencies, manage energy usage, and support safety programs in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and eight or more years experience in electrical systems, refrigeration and/or HVAC.
• Universal CFC certification required. Additional certification in electrical, mechanical, HVAC or refrigeration systems may be required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to provide reliable, courteous service to customers.

Responsibilities

• Performs complex preventive and corrective maintenance, repairs and installations of electrical, mechanical, plumbing and/or HVAC equipment and controls.
• Monitors building system operations and performance under general direction.
• Oversees and inspects the work performed by outside contractors.
• Maintains energy management programs to minimize operating costs.
• Responds to emergencies and customer concerns using work order systems and email.
