Job summary

Boston Properties is seeking a Maintenance Technician/Building Engineer in Washington, DC area to maintain building systems, perform tenant services, and ensure safety and efficiency across properties.

The role requires basic HVAC/Operating Engineering knowledge, ability to work on-call, and strong teamwork and communication skills. On-site position with opportunities to support multiple properties and shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 0–2 years of Maintenance Technician/Building Engineer experience.
• Knowledge of commercial office building systems desirable.
• HVAC or Operating Engineering certifications/training preferred.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and repair building systems (HVAC, electrical, lighting, plumbing).
• Assist in handling tenant services and relations.
• Plan work, gather tools, complete paperwork timely.
• Monitor contractors and inspectors; generate deficiency lists.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of shop and equipment rooms.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies and on-call duties.
