Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Lead Professional, Structural Engineering - Bridges to join our Valhalla, New York team. You will provide high-level technical guidance for bridge investigations, remediation, and construction projects in the public sector, overseeing design, planning, and execution from inception to completion.

The role requires a NY-registered Professional Engineer, 7–10 years of relevant experience, and strong leadership, communication, and QA/QC skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• 7 to 10 years of relevant post-education experience in engineering discipline with prior structural or civil design.
• Registered Professional Engineer in New York State or eligible via reciprocity.
• Proficient with structural engineering principles, practices, and codes.
• Knowledge of infrastructure planning, design, and construction management; varying rehab and new design projects.
• Strong report writing, data interpretation, and communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Self-led, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple tasks with QA/QC discipline.

Responsibilities

• Apply high-level structural engineering techniques to identify improvements across project phases.
• Conduct site investigations to ensure conformance with rules, standards, and permits.
• Develop construction plans, specs, and cost estimates with safety and phasing considerations.
• Manage design, construction, rehabilitation, and remediation of infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams and review designs for data integrity and code compliance.
