Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or related discipline.
7–10 years of post-education engineering experience.
Registered Professional Engineer in New York State or reciprocity.
Proficient with structural engineering principles and design/build processes.
Involvement in rehabilitation, new design, and construction projects.
Knowledge of codes, regulations, and record-keeping requirements.
Ability to perform technical calculations and interpret plans.
Strong communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
Self-leadership, multi-tasking, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and guide junior staff.
Commitment to workplace safety and policy adherence.
Willingness to travel as projects require.

Responsibilities

Apply high-level structural and civil engineering techniques to project phases including concept to operation.
Perform professional structural engineering work and inspect site conditions for compliance.
Develop construction plans, specs, cost estimates, and safety/phasings with coordination.
Manage design, construction, rehabilitation, and remediation of infrastructure projects.
Oversee cross-functional teams, budgets, hours, and material/labor quantities.
Coordinate, review and approve design plans ensuring code compliance.
Prepare data visuals, tables, charts, and 2D/3D illustrations for analyses.
Prepare technical reports and presentations for structural and construction issues.
Analyze site data and contribute to risk mitigation plans.
Prepare and implement HASPs and health and safety plans.
Stay current with latest structural engineering practices.
Adhere to code of conduct and policies; adjust to business needs.
