Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Professional, Structural Engineering – Bridges in Valhalla, New York. You will lead design, analysis, and site-work for bridge projects across public and private sectors, mentoring junior staff and coordinating with clients and stakeholders.

The role requires NY PE licensure or reciprocity readiness, with expertise in advanced structural modeling, code compliance, and multi-discipline collaboration. Excellent communication and project-management skills are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
5–7 years of post-education structural engineering experience.
Registered Professional Engineer in NY or eligible via reciprocity.
Ability to apply structural engineering principles to project work.
Experience with rehabilitation and new design projects.
Knowledge of sustainability and reducing hazardous substances/GHG.
Familiar with construction laws, codes, and QA/QC.
Ability to perform technical calculations from plans and specs.
Project management on small to mid-size projects.
Strong written and verbal communication

Responsibilities

Lead data collection and analysis from site surveys, plans, GIS, and data for project development.
Perform structural engineering analyses and assess site conditions and structures.
Develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
Create 2D/3D visualizations and technical reports.
Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with clients and sub-consultants.
Ensure QA/QC and regulatory compliance across projects.
