Job summary

Mercy Health in Ohio seeks a Clinical Nurse II to lead a care delivery team, directing nursing care for a defined group of patients with independent assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of needs.

The CN II precepts new staff, coordinates care with the Nurse Manager, and ensures quality outcomes. ACLS, Fire Safety, CPR recertification and 12 hours of annual continuing education are required. Full-time, 7:00 pm–7:30 am, every other weekend and holiday.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a state-accredited school of nursing.
• Current Ohio RN licensure.
• Successful completion of general and unit-specific orientation and hospital probationary period, with Orientation Checklist.
• Obtain/maintain at least 12 hours of continuing education annually including Fire Safety and CPR recertification; ACLS is required.
• Must have theoretical knowledge plus clinical experience in providing nursing care for diverse patients; ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Lead care for a team of patients with independent assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Precepts new employees as assigned.
• Coordinate nursing care for a defined group of patients.
• Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses and Patient Care Assistants.
• Report to Nurse Manager or Administrative Supervisor; work with Charge Nurse as needed.
