Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a dedicated Baker to join our Bakery Department. You will prepare, bake, fry, and fill customer orders daily, while leading bakery clerks and ensuring quality, freshness, and accurate labeling throughout shifts.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent and 6 months to 1 year of related experience; prior bakery leadership is a plus. A fast-paced kitchen environment and strong teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; department training helpful.
• Over six months up to one year of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a smile and assist them throughout the store.
• Prepare, bake, fry, and pull products from freezer/cooler and ensure freshness.
• Lead bakery clerks, set production timelines, and manage daily schedules.
• Inspect product for freshness and accuracy of labeling; maintain safety standards.
• Order supplies and help maintain clean, safe bakery area.
