Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking an Automotive Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, and to mentor peers in delivering superior customer service. You will educate customers on problems and proposed repairs while leading a small team toward higher customer satisfaction.

The role requires 3+ years of repair experience, ASE certifications (preferred), a valid driver's license, and flexibility to work varying shifts including weekends.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of automotive diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4, A5, plus 2 from A1/A6/A7/A8/L1).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Must have valid driver's license.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brake/hydraulic, exhaust, ignition/electrical, suspension/align, A/C and computer systems.
• Perform duties of lower technician levels.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and staff.
• Continuously learn new automotive techniques through formal training.
• Assist fellow technicians in technical activities.
• Keep management informed of repair problems.
• Maintain organized and clean shop; comply with policies and safety rules.
