Job summary

Pep Boys Inc. seeks an experienced Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems and to lead a team toward higher customer satisfaction. You will interact with customers, explain problems clearly, and mentor peers to improve service quality.

The role requires 3+ years of diagnostic experience, ASE certifications, and a valid driver’s license. Availability includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. A strong safety and teamwork mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of strong automotive diagnostic and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4, A5, A1, A6, A7, A8, L1).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• High motivation, energy and customer-focused attitude.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Pre-employment background check required.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, ignition, electrical, suspension, and A/C systems to specifications.
• Explain diagnoses and repairs to customers and staff as needed.
• Mentor and lead shop team to improve customer care and shop efficiency.
• Stay current with automotive technologies through formal training.
• Keep management informed of repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized, safe, and compliant work environment.
• Adhere to all company policies, safety, and environmental rules.
