Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, and to lead a team in delivering premier customer care and education on vehicle repairs.

The role requires strong diagnostic skills, multiple ASE certifications, and a customer-focused approach. A valid driver’s license, background check, and availability for varied shifts are needed to support service excellence.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 3+ years of automotive diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4, A5 plus 2 of A1, A6, A7, A8, L1).
• Section 609 certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brake/hydraulic, exhaust, fuel ignition, electrical, suspension and A/C systems.
• Perform duties of lower Technician roles as needed.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs clearly to customers and staff.
• Continuously learn new automotive technology in training sessions.
• Assist other technicians in technical tasks.
• Keep management informed of mechanical issues as they occur.
• Maintain an organized, clean shop and adhere to safety rules.
