Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a skilled Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, while guiding a team to deliver superior customer care. You will educate customers about problems and proposed solutions, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business.

The role requires several ASE certifications, a valid driver's license, and a commitment to ongoing learning in a dynamic automotive environment. Day, night, and weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of strong automotive diagnostic and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications are preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension & A5 Brakes, plus 2 from A1, A6, A7, A8, L1).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications including brakes, hydraulics, exhaust, ignition, electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and employees.
• Mentor and assist fellow technicians to perform technical activities.
• Keep management informed of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and safe shop and follow all policies and safety rules.
