Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking an experienced Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, mentor teammates, and deliver excellent customer service. You will interact with customers, explain repairs, and stay current with automotive technology through training.

The role requires leadership in a fast-paced shop, strong diagnostic skills, and a customer-focused attitude. Availability for varied shifts and adherence to safety standards are expected.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of strong automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications are preferred (A4 Steering & Suspension & A5 Brakes, plus 2 from: A1 Engine Repair, A6 Electrical, A7 HVAC, A8 Engine Performance, L1 Advanced Engine Performance).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brakes, exhaust, ignition, electrical, suspension, A/C and computer systems.
• Perform duties of all lower technician roles as needed.
• Explain technical diagnoses and repairs to customers or staff clearly.
• Continuously learn new automotive techniques in formal training.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Keep store management informed of repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and clean shop environment.
• Adhere to company policies, safety and environmental rules.
