Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician in Spring Hill, FL to diagnose drivability and electrical systems and mentor a shop team. You will educate customers on problems and proposed solutions, ensuring high customer satisfaction while maintaining shop organization and safety.

Responsibilities include explaining repairs, staying current with automotive tech through training, and supporting colleagues across duties. Position requires ASE certifications and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of automotive diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension & A5 Brakes, plus 2 from A1, A6, A7, A8, L1).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications -- brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems.
• Perform job duties of all lower job descriptions (Technician B, Mechanic, General Service Technician).
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals on an as-required basis.
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions.
• Assist fellow technicians/mechanics in performing technical activities.
• Keep store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety and environmental rules.
