Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, and to lead a team toward better customer care. You will interact directly with customers, educating them on problems and proposed solutions for their vehicles.

Responsibilities include diagnosing, repairing, mentoring teammates, and maintaining an organized, policy-compliant shop. Availability for varying shifts and a customer-focused attitude are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of strong automotive diagnostic/repair experience
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4, A5, plus two from other listed)
• Section 609 certification required
• State Inspection license if applicable
• High motivation, energy and customer-focused attitude
• Valid driver's license
• Successful completion of pre-employment background check
• Willingness to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brakes, suspension, electrical, A/C, and more
• Perform duties of lower technician levels when needed
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers clearly
• Keep learning via formal training to stay current with automotive tech
• Assist other technicians and maintain shop organization
• Keep store management informed of repair issues as they arise
• Adhere to company policies, safety, and environmental rules
• Lead in the shop with a team-first mindset
