Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, mentor a shop team, and deliver excellent customer service. You will educate customers on problems and proposed solutions for their vehicles.

Responsibilities include diagnosing complex issues, explaining repairs to customers, and maintaining a clean, organized shop while following safety and company policies. Availability includes days, nights, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Requires 3+ years of automotive diagnosis and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4, A5, and two of A1/A6/A7/A8/L1).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Must have valid driver's license.
• Pre-employment background check.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brake, hydraulic, exhaust, ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to customers as required.
• Mentor and lead technicians to drive customer care and team performance.
• Continuously learn new techniques to stay current with automotive technology.
• Maintain organized, safe shop and adhere to company policies.
