Pep Boys is seeking an experienced Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, explain repairs to customers, and mentor a shop team. This role emphasizes leadership, customer care, and staying current with automotive technology.

Responsibilities include diagnosing complex repairs, maintaining a neat shop, and ensuring compliance with company policies. A strong focus on communication and teamwork is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• This position requires 3+ years of automotive diagnostic, repair and problem-solving experience.
• Four or more ASE certifications are preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension, A5 Brakes, plus two from A1 Engine Repair, A6 Electrical, A7 HVAC, A8 Engine Performance, L1 Advanced Engine Performance).
• Section 609 certification is required.
• State Inspection license, if applicable.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• High level of motivation and customer-focused attitude.
• Pre-employment background check required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair brake/hydraulic, exhaust, fuel ignition, electrical, suspension and A/C systems per specifications.
• Explain diagnoses and necessary repairs to customers and staff as needed.
• Lead and mentor technicians to improve customer care and shop performance.
• Stay current with automotive technology through formal training.
• Maintain an organized, safe, policy-compliant shop environment.
• Communicate repair issues to store management as they occur.
