Job summary

Pep Boys Indianapolis is seeking a seasoned Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems. You will lead a shop team to improve customer care and educate customers on problems and proposed solutions for their vehicles.

You will interact directly with customers and drive superior service through clear explanations and hands-on repair. The role requires 3+ years of automotive diagnostics, ASE certifications (4+ preferred), and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years automotive diagnostics and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension & A5 Brakes, plus 2 from: A1/A6/A7/A8/L1).
• Section 609 certification required; State Inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver’s license; pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, ignition, electrical, suspension and A/C systems.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and staff.
• Mentor and assist fellow technicians in technical activities.
• Stay current with automotive technology through formal training.
• Keep shop organized and report problems to management.
• Adhere to safety and company policies.
