Job summary

Auto Plus in Indianapolis, IN seeks a skilled Automotive Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, lead a shop team, and educate customers on fixes to boost satisfaction.

The role involves diagnosing brake, exhaust, ignition, suspension, A/C, and computer systems; mentoring peers; maintaining an organized shop; and staying current with technology through ongoing training. Must have ASE certifications and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years automotive diagnostic and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension & A5 Brakes, plus 2 from A1/A6/A7/A8/L1).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license, if applicable.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Pre-employment background check.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair brakes, exhaust, fuel ignition and electrical, suspension, A/C and computer systems.
• Perform duties of lower technician roles when needed.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and staff.
• Stay current with automotive technology through formal training.
• Assist fellow technicians in technical activities.
• Keep management informed of repair problems as they arise.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop.
• Adhere to safety and company policies.
