Job summary

The Pep Boys Manny Moe & Jack LLC is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, while mentoring a shop team to improve customer care and satisfaction. You will educate customers on problems and proposed solutions for their vehicles.

You will lead technicians, maintain an organized shop, and ensure safety and policy compliance while performing repairs across brakes, exhaust, ignition, suspension, A/C, and electrical systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of strong automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications are PREFERRED for this position (A4 Steering and Suspension & A5 Brakes, plus 2 from: A1 Engine Repair, A6 Electrical, A7 HVAC, A8 Engine Performance, L1 Advanced Engine Performance)
• Section 609 certification required
• State Inspection license if applicable
• High level of motivation, energy and a customer-focused attitude.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Successful completion of pre-employment background check
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel ignition, electrical, suspension, air conditioning and computer systems to specification.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to customers as required.
• Lead and mentor technicians to drive shop performance and customer care.
• Stay abreast of automotive technology through formal training.
• Maintain an organized and safe shop and communicate repair problems to management.
