Job summary

Pep Boys Careers in Florida is seeking an Automotive Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, using leadership skills to drive a team and enhance customer care. You will interact with customers and educate them on problems and proposed solutions for their vehicle.

You will diagnose, repair, and explain technical diagnoses to customers, continuously learn new techniques, and maintain an organized, safe shop while adhering to company policies.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• High school diploma or GED required; ASE certifications highly preferred (A4 Steering & Suspension, A5 Brakes, plus 2 from A1, A6, A7, A8, L1).
• Section 609 certification required; State Inspection license if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brake/hydraulic, exhaust, ignition and electrical systems, suspension and alignment, A/C and computer systems.
• Perform duties of lower technician levels as needed.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and team members clearly.
• Continuously learn new automotive techniques and participate in formal training to stay current.
• Assist other technicians and keep management informed of repair issues as they arise.
• Maintain an organized and safe shop and adhere to company policies.
