Job summary

Pep Boys Inc is seeking a Master Technician in Slidell, LA to diagnose drivability, air conditioning, and electrical systems while leading a shop team to deliver superior customer care. You will educate customers on problems and proposed solutions, mentoring others and staying updated with evolving automotive technology.

The role demands 5+ years of experience, 8+ ASE certifications preferred, and requires ASE/609 certifications and state inspections where applicable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 5+ years of strong automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 8 or more ASE certifications preferred (A1 through A8).
• Section 609 Certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brake/hydraulic, exhaust, ignition/electrical, suspension/alignments, air conditioning and computer systems.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and employees.
• Mentor and lead technicians to improve customer care and service quality.
• Continuously learn new automotive technologies through formal training.
• Assist fellow technicians and communicate issues to store management.
• Maintain a clean and organized shop and adhere to company policies.
