Speechify is seeking a Team Lead for Android Core Product in San Mateo, CA with a hands-on leadership role. You will own major features end-to-end, review code, and drive the team toward robust, scalable Android solutions.

The role blends leadership with active coding and architectural decisions to deliver high-quality audio-focused experiences. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in software engineering, deep Kotlin expertise, and a track record of shipping features while guiding team

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including time leading a team or owning a major surface while staying hands-on.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Android architecture patterns.
• Experience shipping features end-to-end with solid testing practices.

Responsibilities

• Own major features end to end, from design through release.
• Maintain and improve reliability metrics for key features.
• Review pull requests and give constructive feedback.
• Unblock the team and guide decisions on versioning and deployments.
• Ensure reusable, well-tested shared components and sane design decisions.
• Drive planning and help the team focus on decisions that require input.
