Job summary

Speechify is seeking a hands-on Team Lead for the Android app to own core product work and guide the team in building high-quality features. You will write code, review code, and own features from concept to release, while driving reliability and fast delivery.

You will lead by example, maintaining strong communication, and ensuring the team ships with scalable, tested components. This is a fully remote role with a distributed team across the US and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Own major features end to end, from decision through to release.
• Maintain and improve reliability metrics for key features.
• Review pull requests and give constructive feedback.
• Unblock the team: identify and resolve blockers promptly.
• Ensure changes consolidate around a single standard when multiple versions exist.
• Keep shared components maintainable and well-documented.
• Lead when the team is ready to change how it works, not before.
• Reduce manual steps to ensure correct releases.
• Address recurring problems by changing underlying setups.
• Shift verification left to enable more automated checks.
