Job summary

Speechify is hiring a Team Lead for its Android platform, owning core features end to end. This hands-on leadership role requires shipping reliable code, reviewing PRs, and guiding a team through design, QA, and release cycles.

You will work across product, design, and engineering to push UI/UX and performance, while mentoring junior engineers and driving automation to reduce manual steps in releases.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including time leading a team or owning a major surface while staying hands-on

Responsibilities

• Own major features end to end, working closely with our design team — from the decision through to release
• Own, maintain, and improve reliability metrics for key features
• Review pull requests and give constructive feedback
• Unblock the team when blockers appear
• Ensure code is reusable, well-tested, and maintainable
• Drive process improvements and automation to reduce manual releases
• Plan sprints to focus on decisions and risks
• Balance review workload and sign-off responsibilities
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering early to align constraints
• Handle critical issues and nightly builds for QA
• Mentor early-career engineers and provide learning opportunities
