Job summary

Wolfoods seeks an experienced Assistant Kitchen Manager to oversee daily prep and production at our rural summer camp locations. You will lead a hands-on team, ensure allergen safety, and maintain high standards in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

The role is on-site and live-in for the season, with a demanding 6-day/70-hour work week, and includes full room and board. You’ll collaborate with camp leadership to deliver scratch-cooked meals tailored to dietary needs.

Qualifications

2+ years in a commercial kitchen leadership role with scratch and institutional/batch cooking experience.
ServSafe Allergens certification required before start date (company-sponsored).
Strong leadership and cooking skills; able to navigate iPad; versatile with ingredients; able to identify all Big 9 Allergens; sharp problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

Lead and train kitchen staff; foster a high-energy, positive environment.
Oversee culinary flow, portion control, menu specs, scratch cooking, and timely meal service.
Strictly manage allergen safety protocols and maintain Health Department sanitation standards.
Manage inventory and assist with daily reporting.
Serve as liaison between kitchen operations, campers, and camp leadership.
