EY’s Challenger program seeks a senior AI/product-focused engineer to turn AI capabilities into durable products. You’ll work end-to-end, from user conversations to prototyping, secure services, and production improvements in a hybrid US environment.

The role emphasizes founder-like ownership, rapid testing, and delivering value while maintaining accessibility, maintainability, and disciplined evaluation. Travel up to 50% and collaborative cross-team work are expected.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant and applicable experience.
• End-to-end delivery: take software from concept through launch, learning, and adoption.
• Technical breadth across modern frontend, backend, API, data, and cloud technologies.
• Applied AI experience: building products with large language models, retrieval, tools, or similar patterns.
• Evaluation experience: automated testing and behavioral evaluation for probabilistic systems.
• Live-service ownership: telemetry, debugging, reliability, incident response, and performance improvement.
• User-centered practice: work with users, designers, and product leaders to turn evidence into better decisions.
• Engineering craft: clear specs, maintainable code, thoughtful reviews, and solid trade-offs.
• Role requires up to 50% travel and hybrid office presence.

Responsabilités

• Start with the user: work with users and domain experts to understand workflows and AI value.
• Test assumptions quickly: turn hypotheses into prototypes and small releases with evidence.
• Own complete product slices: build coherent verticals across experience, services, data, AI behavior, and integrations.
• Shape AI behavior: design instructions, context, retrieval, outputs, and tool use with evidence-based adjustments.
• Build the evidence system: create tasks and automated evaluations to show usefulness, correctness, safety, accessibility, and improvement.
• Connect outcomes to behavior: instrument journeys to relate adoption to system performance and cost.
• Engineer for responsible use: enforce permissions, data handling, checkpoints, and rollback within the experience.
• Own production quality: release incrementally, monitor live behavior, respond to incidents, and drive improvement.
• Make practical trade-offs: balance experience, quality, speed, reliability, and cost.
• Contribute reusable patterns: share components and evaluation assets while remaining accountable.
