EY is seeking an experienced software/AI product engineer to turn AI capabilities into durable products. You will own end-to-end slices from user conversations to prototypes, secure services, and production improvements, while balancing performance, accessibility, and maintainability.

The role emphasizes user-centered design, rigorous testing, and responsible AI usage in a hybrid, travel-optional arrangement across EY’s Challenger program.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
• End-to-end delivery: take software from concept to launch and adoption.
• Technical breadth across frontend, backend, API, data, and cloud tech.
• Applied AI experience with LLMs, retrieval, tools, or similar patterns.
• Evidence of automated testing and behavioral evaluation.
• Live-service ownership: telemetry, debugging, reliability, and recovery.
• User-centered practice: work with users and product leaders to improve decisions.
• Engineering craft: clear specs, maintainable code, thoughtful reviews, solid trade-offs.
• Travel up to 50% and hybrid office flexibility.

Responsabilités

• Start with the user: understand workflows with domain experts and identify AI-driven value.
• Test assumptions quickly: build concise specs, prototypes, and small releases.
• Own complete product slices: craft coherent verticals across experience, services, data, AI behavior, and integrations.
• Shape AI behavior: design instructions, context, retrieval, outputs, and tool use.
• Build the evidence system: create tasks and automated evaluations for usefulness, correctness, accessibility, and safety.
• Connect outcomes to behavior: instrument journeys to relate adoption to system metrics.
• Engineer for responsible use: establish clear permissions, data handling, and rollback strategies.
• Own production quality: release incrementally, monitor, and learn from failures to improve.
• Make practical trade-offs: balance experience, quality, speed, reliability, and cost.
• Contribute reusable patterns: share components with the broader platform.
