Job summary

Honeywell International, Inc. is seeking a Lead AI Engineer in Atlanta to guide a team of AI engineers. You will shape AI project design, development, and deployment, collaborating with Data Science and Data Engineering while aligning with business objectives.

The role emphasizes model performance, scalability, and state‑of‑the‑art ML techniques. Hybrid work schedule with initial 90 days onsite, leadership responsibilities, and direct reporting to the Director of Data Science.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
• 6+ years of production level, scalable Python coding experience.
• 5+ years of experience with machine learning topics: classification, clustering, optimization, recommendation systems, deep learning.
• 5+ years of distributed computing frameworks such as Spark, Kubernetes, etc.
• 5+ years of experience with ML libraries/frameworks (Spark MLlib, Keras, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Transformers, scikit-learn, spaCy, gensim).
• 5+ years of experience with major cloud services like Azure or GCP.
• 1+ years building and scaling Generative AI Applications (Langchain, PGVector, Pinecone, AzureML, VertexAI).
• Experience in building Agentic AI applications.
• 2+ years of technical leadership leading junior engineers in a product development setting.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Data Science and Data Engineering teams on ML system challenges at scale.
• Leverage distributed training systems to build scalable ML pipelines for training and deployments.
• Design and implement solutions to optimize distributed training: hyperparameter tuning, latency, bottlenecks.
• Research and implement state‑of‑the‑art LLM models for business use cases including finetuning and serving.
• Ensure ML model performance, uptime, scalability, and maintain code quality and monitoring.
• Optimize integration between ML libraries and cloud data processing frameworks.
• Build Deep Learning models with optimal parallelism and performance on CPUs/GPUs.
