Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to shape architecture and deliver secure, scalable systems within Corporate Sector Technology. You will drive enterprise AI‑assisted practices and guide an agile team across multiple business functions.

You will mentor engineers, design resilient microservices, collaborate with architects and DBAs, and advance observability, security, and governance while delivering ML pipelines for fraud detection and risk assessment.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts.
• 10+ years of hands-on software development experience in large-scale distributed systems, Java/J2EE and Spring Boot.
• 3+ years of Linux experience.
• Experience using AI-assisted software development tools.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI in engineering workflows.
• Experience with REST APIs and microservices.
• Kubernetes orchestration experience.
• Messaging systems such as Kafka.
• Log analytics with ELK/Splunk.
• AWS and/or hybrid on-prem + cloud exposure.

Responsibilities

• Drives enterprise AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
• Applies SDLC toolchain knowledge to improve automation value.
• Architects and implements scalable, low-latency services with target-state architecture.
• Designs services that integrate with enterprise systems with governance and security.
• Lead and mentor the development team in a high-pressured delivery environment; manage multiple deliverables and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with LOB users, SMEs, architects, DBAs, and system admins to design solutions and resolve issues.
• Build ML pipelines for fraud detection and risk assessment; support modeling teams.
• Deploy production ML models with validation and quality controls.
• Design reusable ML platform components and establish monitoring.
• Build agentic AI services to automate engineering workflows.
• Define guardrails and evaluation approaches for agentic AI in production.
