Job summary

AMPS (Amethod Public Schools) is seeking a Lead ASES Tutor to provide academic assistance and supervise after-school program operations. You will tutor students, lead an enrichment class, oversee attendance, and coordinate with front office on student accommodations and activities.

Qualifications

• Work experience in a school setting with students.
• Must possess organization, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Must pass a DOJ background check.
• Must be willing to create and follow through with an individualized professional development plan.

Responsibilities

• Tutor students during Homework Help during the after-school program.
• Teach an Enrichment class to students during after school program.
• Assist with integrating core-curriculum concepts.
• Manage groups of students to make efficient use of time.
• Consult with the Principal or Designee on academic assistance strategies.
• Communicate regularly with school-day teachers and ASES program staff.
• Ensure student safety and school accountability.
• Keep accurate records and collect data on students.
• Monitors individual and groups of students, classroom and/or playground activities for safety.
• Assists teacher in supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods and field trips.
• Attend in-service trainings as well as other appropriate trainings.
