Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise tutors and onboard substitutes.
  • Manage attendance, sign-ups, PowerSchool entry, and attendance accountability with the Registrar.
  • Monitor the waitlist and collaborate with Deans on student enrollment.
  • Manage meal counts, trainings, and food ordering.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for immediate behavior concerns.
  • Ensure required staff breaks are provided and coverage for students is maintained.
  • Manage supplies, daily materials, field trip preparation, compliance documentation, and program space readiness.
  • Coordinate with the front office regarding student accommodations, medications, and doctor’s notes.
  • Oversee clubs, including daily Get Empowered Club operations.
  • Manage ELOP communication, sign-ups, preparation, and coverage for designated ELOP days.
  • Participate in ASES Tutor interviews as needed.

Lead ASES Tutor

POSITION SUMMARY

The Lead ASES Tutor position will provide academic assistance services to students who need remedial assistance, including tutoring students in specific academic areas related to their core curriculum and/or assist students with their homework assignments or projects during the afterschool program. The after-school support staff will be under the supervision of the Principal or Designee.

Salary

This is a part-time position with an hourly pay range between $22.50-$25.00/Hour

LEAD ASES TUTOR RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ASES & Instructional Assistant)
  • Tutor students during Homework Help during the after-school program.
  • Teach an Enrichment class to students during after school program
  • Assist with integrating core-curriculum concepts
  • Manage groups of students to make efficient use of time
  • Consult with the Principal or Designee on academic assistance strategies
  • Communicate regularly with school-day teachers and ASES program staff
  • Ensure student safety and school accountability
  • Keep accurate records and collect data on students
  • Monitors individual and groups of students, classroom and/or playground activities for the purpose of providing a safe environment.
  • Assists teacher in supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods and field trips.
  • Attend in-service trainings as well as other appropriate trainings according to Professional development
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Work experience in a school setting with students
  • Must possess organization, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Must pass a DOJ background check.
  • Must be willing to create and follow through with an individualized professional development plan.
  • Ability to demonstrate skills in development of academic activities.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • High level of communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong initiative and ability to solve problems.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of mobility through a large campus, and at times prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc.) most of the workday.
  • Can use radio receiver for safety communication purposes;
  • Required to exert physical effort in handling objects up to twenty pounds.
  • This position requires on-site presence 100% of the time – telecommuting (WFH) arrangements are not available. Please do not apply if you are unable to meet this commitment.
Physical Working Environment

The position is in a school building, which may be air conditioned and heated. May be exposed to prolonged noise or weather. This type of work will involve walking, standing, or sitting for extended periods. Stooping, squatting, kneeling, overhead reaching and repetitive bending may be involved frequently with this position. Perceiving the nature of sound, near and far. Vision, depth perception, providing oral information, and manual dexterity. Must be able to climb stairs and sit for extended periods of time. Requires finger dexterity to operate equipment, handling work with various materials and objects are important aspects of this job.
