Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced inspector to review incoming aerospace materials, perform dimensional and material inspections, and ensure conformance to drawings and purchase orders. You will work with engineers, buyers, and manufacturing to support flight-critical hardware in a safety-focused environment.

The role requires hands-on inspection experience, GD&T proficiency, and the ability to apply precision measurement tools across multiple inspection tasks. U.S.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on mechanical inspection experience with aerospace components.

Responsibilities

• Execute component inspections per approved plans, verify dimensional conformance, part marking, and traceability.
• Perform receiving inspections on incoming aerospace hardware, raw materials, and assemblies using appropriate measurement techniques.
• Review FAIs per AS9102 to ensure criteria are satisfied prior to hardware acceptance.
• Select and apply precision measurement tools for each task, including hand tools, gauges, optical comparators, and surface plate setups.
• Review supplier documentation (CoCs, MTRs, inspection records) for compliance with drawings and PO requirements.
• Initiate nonconformance/discrepancy reports with full traceability within QMS.
• Provide engineers and buyers with clear dimensional data and inspection findings to support dispositions.
• Communicate inspection status and nonconformance trends to stakeholders to minimize schedule impact.
• Develop accurate inspection time estimates to support production planning.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in receiving inspection processes and safety in proximity to flight-critical hardware.
• Provide expertise on new inspection equipment and training to others.
