Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a Safety Management System (SMS) Focal at the Lynn Component Manufacturing site in Texas. The role coordinates with Plant Leaders and Quality Leaders to develop, implement, and maintain an enterprise-aligned SMS, promoting a positive product safety culture and proactive risk management across cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 5 years in quality assurance in manufacturing or aerospace, and experience in safety audits,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with QA experience in manufacturing/aerospace (or HS diploma with 4+ years QA exp).
• Minimum 5 years QA experience in manufacturing or aerospace.

Responsibilities

• Lead the SMS implementation for Lynn Component Manufacturing in line with enterprise standards.
• Facilitate risk identification, analysis, and mitigation with SAT/SRB.
• Prepare and submit product safety performance reports to SMS stakeholders.
• Monitor compliance with SMS policies and conduct safety audits.
• Support safety risk management within change initiatives.
• Provide SMS and Human Factors training to site employees.
• Drive cross-site collaboration to share lessons learned on product safety.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and proactive risk management.
