Job summary

Think Consulting in Washington, DC seeks a Law Clerk to support trial staff in a fast-paced federal environment, performing complex legal research and drafting pleadings under supervision.

Candidates must have a law degree or be currently enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school, possess strong research skills, and be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance. Proficiency with Lexis/Westlaw and document review tools is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires Law degree or current ABA-accredited law student.
• Familiar with federal and state court systems and legal research procedures.
• Experience with Lexis and Westlaw.
• Proficient with word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and imaging.
• U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Works under the direction of a Project Supervisor or Project Manager.
• Performs complex legal research for the trial staff.
• Assists in preparing draft legal documents, such as motions, briefs, memoranda of law, etc.
• Assists in drafting of Program's decisions. In many claims, the Program's decision sets the foundation for subsequent administrative and judicial review.
• Reviewing documents for relevance and privilege.
• Ability to conduct research in applicable statutory, regulatory, and case law.
• Demonstrating ability to discern the relevant issues in complex fact patterns.
• Assisting attorneys with all phases of litigation.
• Law Clerk duties as defined by the contract.
