Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Law Clerk II to support the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, DC. The role involves complex legal research, drafting motions and briefs, and assisting attorneys across litigation phases.

Qualified candidates hold a law degree or ABA-accredited law school status with at least two years completed, plus 2+ years in litigation support. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Public Trust are required.

Qualifications

• Requires Law degree, or currently attending ABA-accredited law school with at least two years completed.
• 2+ years of progressively responsible litigation support experience and strong client/attorney interaction skills.
• Familiarity with federal/state courts, legal research procedures, and Lexis/Westlaw.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex legal research under supervision of a Supervisory Paralegal or Project Manager.
• Prepare draft motions, briefs, and memoranda of law.
• Review documents for relevance and privilege.
• Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation.
• Act as team leader on larger projects when required.
• Interface with trial attorneys, experts, and client staff.
• Assist in drafting program decisions and understand bases of decisions.
• Discern relevant issues in complex fact patterns.
