Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) is seeking a Law Clerk I to support a large federal agency’s legal mission. The role focuses on litigation support tasks such as cite checking, document review, and legal research, with opportunities for professional growth.

The position requires a JD or current ABA-accredited law student with at least one year of study, strong research skills, and familiarity with Westlaw/Lexis. A government or litigation support background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires JD or current law student with at least one year of study.
• Solid knowledge of federal and state court systems and research procedures.
• Experience with legal research tools such as Lexis/Westlaw and bluebook.
• Experience with cite checking and complex legal research.
• Proficiency with MS Office and document management systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex legal research for trial staff.
• Assist in preparing draft legal documents (motions, briefs, memoranda).
• Cite checking via Westlaw and Lexis and bluebook formatting.
• Review ROI and new cases; research pertinent laws.
• Edit and review cases for issuance; draft statements of facts.
