Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) is seeking a Law Clerk I to support a large federal agency's legal mission. The role involves litigation support such as legal research, document review, and cite checking to aid trial staff.

The position requires a JD or active ABA‑accredited law student with strong knowledge of legal research tools and blue book formatting. Candidates should be able to manage multiple tasks under pressure and collaborate with attorneys.

Qualifications

• Requires JD or currently attending ABA‑accredited law school with at least one year completed.
• Familiar with federal and state court systems and legal research procedures.
• Experience with cite checking and blue book.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex legal research for trial staff.
• Assist in preparing draft legal documents (motions, briefs, memoranda).
• Cite checking using Westlaw/Lexis and blue book.
• Review and research ROI (Release of Information) materials.
• Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation.
• Review AMICUS briefs and draft statements of facts.
