Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) is seeking a Law Clerk to support the legal mission of a large federal agency. The role involves litigation support tasks such as cite checking, document review, legal research, and drafting legal documents.

You will work under a Project Supervisor or Project Manager and assist attorneys in all phases of litigation while leveraging Relativity, Westlaw, Lexis, and other tools. The position is full-time and based in the United States.

Qualifications

• JD or current ABA-accredited law student with at least one year of study.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state courts and legal research procedures.
• Proficiency with Lexis and Westlaw.
• Experience with cite checking and Bluebook formatting.
• Familiarity with document review, word processing, and data management.
• Ability to perform under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex legal research for trial staff.
• Assist in drafting motions, briefs, and memorandum of law.
• Cite check using Westlaw/Lexis and Bluebook.
• Review ROI and case law research for pertinent legal issues.
• Support attorneys in all phases of litigation.
• Respond to citizen letters.
• Prepare draft legal documents and memos.
