Contact Government Services (CGS) seeks a Law Clerk I to support a large federal agency in Washington, DC / Arlington, VA. This full-time on-site position emphasizes litigation support, including cite checking, legal research, and document review.

The role requires a JD or current law student with at least one year of study, solid knowledge of federal and state courts, and experience with Westlaw and Lexis. Growth opportunities exist in a government-facing environment.

Qualifications

• JD or active ABA law school status with at least one year completed.
• Strong knowledge of federal/state court systems and research.
• Familiar with LEXIS and Westlaw research tools.
• Experience with cite checking and blue book formatting.
• Experience performing complex legal research.

Responsibilities

• Conduct complex legal research for trial staff.
• Prepare draft motions, briefs, and memoranda.
• Support litigation across all phases.
• Perform cite checking via legal research tools.
• Review ROI and analyze new and existing cases.
