Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a fluids-focused engineer to support the testing, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of fluid systems for launch facilities and vehicles. You will work on high-pressure gas and hydraulics, contribute to safety analyses, and help ensure reliable operation of the New Glenn program.

The role requires a BS in aerospace or mechanical engineering and 2+ years of relevant experience, plus ability to work with cross-functional teams and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• BS degree in aerospace, mechanical engineering or similar discipline.
• 2+ years relevant experience with design or fluid system operation, including high pressure gas or high pressure hydraulic systems
• Experience writing and executing test plans and procedures for qualification, acceptance, and operations of hazardous and/or safety critical components and systems
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with teams composed of multiple roles and disciplines to achieve a common goal
• Ability to earn trust and maintain positive professional relationships.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teams to build, operate, and maintain a world class launch site and launch vehicle
• Author and run procedures for commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting and fluid system operations
• Collaborate on system safety, perform hazards analysis and job hazards analyses; guide work using hierarchy of controls for safety
• Operate and maintain launch pad piping systems including hydraulic and pneumatic piping systems
• Assist with oversight commissioning and operation of new or modified piping/pressure systems
• Occasional travel may be necessary
• Occasional second shift may be necessary
