Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a systems engineer for the New Glenn GS2-4E program. You will craft CONOPS, manage requirements, and coordinate across stakeholders to ensure safety and success of launch operations.

You will contribute to functional safety analyses and verification planning, while leading reviews and feeding lessons learned into flight operations. The role emphasizes collaboration, strong communication, and the ability to operate effectively in a complex, regulated aerospace environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace engineering or similar.
  • 3+ years hands-on experience in fluids, thermal, propulsion, cryogenics or pneumatics.
  • Hands-on experience in analysis, design, testing, or launch operations.
  • Experience writing, decomposing, and verifying requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in teams and lead through influence.
  • Ability to work in ambiguous environments and make decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Support Vehicle and Ground System Leads by performing systems engineering activities per Blue Origin standards.
  • Develop detailed CONOPS for pre-launch and flight operations.
  • Author, decompose, analyze, trace, and verify requirements.
  • Coordinate interfaces between internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop verification plans and strategies for requirements verification.
  • Define operational constraints for end-to-end safe operation of the subsystem.
  • Lead gated reviews for New Glenn program and element levels.
