Job summary

Gigaphoton, a leader in advanced Excimer LASERs for lithography, seeks a Field Service Technician in Beaverton, OR. You will participate in structured training to support installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment at customer sites, with a path toward Field Service Engineer.

The role emphasizes developing technical, safety, and customer service capabilities through hands-on experience, while meeting safety standards and customer expectations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical training preferred.
• Aptitude, initiative, and willingness to learn in a technical service environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to learn laser theory, installation processes, and maintenance practices.
• Ability to learn and apply designated technical systems and analytical tools.

Responsibilities

• Participate in structured training to develop technical proficiency in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, laser theory, parts identification, tooling, and installation procedures.
• Assist with on-site installation, maintenance, and repair activities following procedures and safety requirements.
• Learn to use required service tools, systems, and software including Windows-based applications, Outlook, 365, OneDrive, and analysis tools.
• Research and help resolve hardware and software issues under supervision.
• Support root cause analysis by gathering data and documenting findings for corrective actions.
• Provide logistics support, including moving parts, coordinating shipment, and documenting activity.
• Maintain training schedules and track on-the-job development for continuous improvement.
• Communicate and escalate issues promptly to support timely resolution.
• Work overtime as needed to meet business and customer requirements safely.
