Job summary

TOPTICA Photonics, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Engineer in Pittsford, NY to deliver on-site and remote technical support for customers. The role involves field service of existing laser systems, installation of new systems with regular travel, and in-house repair when needed.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with cw or ultrafast lasers, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities. Travel to Munich for training is required.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on experience with cw and/or ultrafast lasers and optical systems.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to adapt to unexpected challenges with collaboration.
• Comfortable working in high-pressure environments.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an outgoing personality.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site and remote technical support for customers.
• Perform field service of existing TOPTICA laser systems at customer sites.
• Install new laser systems at customer locations with regular travel.
• Service and repair laser systems in-house when needed.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting with internal and external customers.
• Periodically travel to TOPTICA's headquarters in Munich for training.
