Job summary

Brown County seeks a seasoned landfill operations manager to direct day-to-day operations, environmental compliance, and resource recovery at the South Landfill. You will oversee personnel, budgets, contracts, and equipment, coordinating with municipalities and state agencies.

This role requires a bachelor’s degree in Recycling or Waste Resource Management or related field and at least two years in solid waste management, with supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Recycling or Waste Resource Management, Environmental Science or related field plus two years of solid waste management experience.
• Supervisory and operation management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day landfill operations and environmental compliance.
• Manage budgeting, contracts, procurement, and financial reporting.
• Oversee maintenance of grounds and equipment; coordinate engineering and monitoring projects.
• Represent Brown County with municipalities, citizens and agencies.
• Develop and enforce safety plans and procedures.
• Assist in the annual budget preparation and related reporting.
