Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate forklifts, excavators, bulldozers and front-end loaders at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station. You will perform pre- and post-operation inspections to ensure equipment readiness and safe operation.

You will follow safety policies, monitor waste for unacceptable materials, complete reports and help keep the shop clean.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of equipment per policy to ensure cleanliness of windows, lights, mirrors and rear view camera.
• Safely operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and front-end loader using proper safety standards.
• Monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable material during operation.
• Perform and document minor service on equipment; refer complex issues to Maintenance Shop.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and report needed repairs to supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and serviced shop at shift end and follow all safety policies.
