Job summary

Republic Services in Griffin, GA is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station, transferring, spreading, loading and compacting waste or soil in an efficient and safe manner.

You will perform pre- and post-operation checks, monitor equipment condition, carry out minor servicing, complete reports, and uphold all safety policies while keeping the shop and work area clean and well organized for every shift.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior heavy equipment operation experience.
• One year of prior experience at sites regulated by OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment.
• Safely operate equipment including forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader and similar machinery.
• Monitor waste and equipment condition to minimize downtime.
• Perform minor maintenance and report repairs to Maintenance Shop as needed.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and other required documentation.
• Maintain a clean and organized shop and work area after each shift.
