Job summary

Republic Services in Georgia seeks an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate equipment at a recycling center, landfill, or transfer station. You will transfer, spread, cover, load and compact waste or soil while upholding safety standards.

You will perform inspections, report repairs, maintain equipment and a clean work area, and follow company policies to ensure efficient operations on site.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience operating heavy equipment.
• One year of OSHA-regulated site experience.
• Ability to follow safety policies and procedures.
• Professional and courteous interaction with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to manage time and responsibilities efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections per policy.
• Safely operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and loader.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials.
• Document minor maintenance and report repairs to supervisor.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and other necessary reports.
• Keep shop clean and safe; follow safety policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
