Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate at recycling centers, landfills or transfer stations, performing transfers, spreading, covering, loading and compacting waste or soil.

You will perform inspections, monitor equipment and waste, perform minor maintenance, complete reports, and uphold safety policies. The role demands reliability and strong teamwork in a fast-paced, safety‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior heavy equipment operation experience.
• One year of prior experience at OSHA-regulated sites.
• Strong safety awareness and professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Safely operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and front-end loader.
• Continuously monitor waste for unacceptable materials.
• Maintain equipment and minimize downtime; perform minor repairs or service.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and report repairs to supervisor.
• Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
• Keep shop clean, serviced, and stored after each shift.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
