Job summary

City of New York seeks a Construction Project Manager to oversee landfill-related projects across DSNY sites. You will manage contracts, ensure regulatory compliance, and supervise environmental monitoring and drainage systems.

The role requires a strong civil/environmental engineering background, experience with procurement in NYC, and proficiency with AutoCAD. Residency is not required for NYC postings.

Qualifications

• Four-year high school diploma with five years of full-time experience managing construction projects with minimum project cost per year.
• One year of experience plus a bachelor’s degree in engineering/architecture/construction management.
• One year of experience plus a valid PE/registered architect/license is preferred.
• Substitution of undergraduate study with 30 semester credits for up to three years of experience may apply.

Responsibilities

• Manage consultant contracts for landfill post-closure care plans, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Conduct landfill site inspections and monitor surface water, groundwater, drainage, and leachate control.
• Oversee procurement processes, including RFPs, scope, schedules, budgets and MWBE compliance.
• Coordinate with stakeholders on project status, changes, and issue resolution.
