Job summary

DEPT OF ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION in New York City seeks a permanent Construction Project Manager to oversee Green Infrastructure construction, inspect progress, and document compliance with contracts and codes. You will also assist with procurement of design services and coordinate with multiple agencies to ensure timely project delivery.

Qualifications

• Four-year high school diploma or equivalent plus five years of full-time construction project management/inspection experience involving projects of at least $300,000.
• One year of experience with a bachelor’s degree in engineering/related field.
• One year of experience plus a professional engineer/architect/landscape architect license.
• Alternative: combination of diploma and education to total five years of experience.
• Must have a motor vehicle driver license valid in New York State.

Responsibilities

• Participate in field inspections for capital construction contracts for on-site or Right of Way Green Infrastructure.
• Prepare and submit reports to the Section Lead on project schedule and cost updates.
• Participate in construction progress meetings with contractors, consultants and other agencies.
• Assist in resolving construction-related issues to maintain project budget and schedule.
• Prepare cost estimates and assist in negotiations for outsourced construction management services.
• Coordinate with DOE/SCA and other agencies to receive project input and document decisions.
• Perform inspection audits to measure contractor performance during GI construction.
• Enforce compliance with DEP sewer use regulations.
• Coordinate with Design Engineer on field-related issues.
